Tire Pressure Guide

The Science

Optimal tire pressure targets about 15% tire drop (deflection under load). This creates the ideal contact patch — large enough for grip and comfort, small enough for low rolling resistance.

P = K × Load / Width1.6 × Modifiers

Key Factors

Weight is #1

Heavier riders need higher pressure. A 90kg rider needs ~15% more pressure than a 70kg rider on the same tires.

Wider Tires = Lower Pressure

A 28mm tire runs ~30% lower pressure than a 23mm tire. Wider tires have more air volume, so they need less pressure for the same deflection.

Rear > Front

The rear tire carries ~60% of your weight. It always needs higher pressure than the front.

Tubeless Advantage

Tubeless tires can safely run 10% lower pressure — more comfort and grip with fewer flats.

메모: Always stay within the pressure range printed on your tire sidewall. These are recommendations — fine-tune based on personal preference and ride feel.
