체감온도란 무엇인가요?
Wind chill is the perceived decrease in air temperature felt by the body on exposed skin due to air flow. Wind increases the rate of heat loss from the body, making the temperature feel colder than the actual air temperature. The NWS Wind Chill Index uses a formula based on advances in science, technology, and computer modelling to provide an accurate way to measure cold-weather risk.
NWS Wind Chill Formula
WC = 35.74 + 0.6215×T − 35.75×V0.16 + 0.4275×T×V0.16
Where T = air temperature (°F), V = wind speed (mph)
T ≤ 50°F 및 V ≥ 3mph일 때 유효
3 Calculation Types
바람의 냉각
Enter air temperature and wind speed. Get feels-like temperature + risk.
Temperature from WC
Enter wind chill and wind speed. Finds actual air temperature.
Wind Speed from WC
Enter wind chill and temperature. Finds wind speed using iterative solving.
Wind Chill Risk Categories
| Wind Chill (°F) | 범주 | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| ≥ 32 | 작은 위험 | Little danger for properly clothed person. |
| 0 – 31 | 주의 | Risk of hypothermia with prolonged exposure. |
| −1 – −20 | 위험 | Exposed skin can freeze in 10 minutes. |
| −21 – −40 | High Danger | Exposed skin can freeze in 5 minutes. |
| < −40 | 극도의 위험 | Exposed skin can freeze in under 2 minutes. |
중요 사항
- Wind chill only applies when T ≤ 50 °F (10 °C) and V ≥ 3 mph.
- Wind chill only affects exposed skin, not inanimate objects.
- Dress according to wind chill, not just air temperature.
- 지원되는 풍속 단위: mph, km/h, m/s.
