What is the Repayment Calculator?

This calculator computes your fixed monthly loan repayment using the standard amortization formula. Enter the loan amount, annual interest rate, and repayment period in years. You get the monthly payment, total interest over the life of the loan, a principal vs interest breakdown, and the first 12 months of the schedule. You can also compare different term lengths.

The repayment amount is the same every month; only the split between principal and interest changes. Early in the loan, most of each payment goes to interest; toward the end, most goes to principal.

Repayment Formula

The standard formula for a fixed monthly repayment (amortizing loan):

M = P × [r(1+r)^n] ÷ [(1+r)^n − 1]

M = monthly payment, P = principal, r = monthly rate (annual ÷ 12), n = number of payments

Shorter terms mean higher monthly payments but less total interest; longer terms mean lower payments but more interest paid over time.
