Wat is dauwpunt?

The dew point is the temperature at which air becomes saturated with water vapor and condensation starts to form. It is always less than or equal to the air temperature. Dew point is a better indicator of comfort than relative humidity alone, because it directly measures the amount of moisture in the air. This calculator uses the Magnus formula, widely used in meteorology and HVAC applications.

Magnus-formule

α = (A × T) / (B + T) + ln(RH / 100)

Td = (B × α) / (A − α)

Waarbij A = 17,27, B = 237,7 °C, T = temperatuur (°C), RH = relatieve vochtigheid (%), Td = dauwpunt (°C)

4 Calculation Types

Dauw punt

Enter air temperature and relative humidity. Get dew point with comfort level.

Relatieve vochtigheid

Voer de luchttemperatuur en het dauwpunt in. Bereken de relatieve vochtigheid (%).

Temperatuur

Enter dew point and relative humidity. Get the air temperature.

Eenheden converteren

Convert between °C, °F, and K.

Dauwpuntcomfortniveaus

Dauwpunt (°C) Comfortniveau Beschrijving
< 10DroogVery comfortable, dry air.
10 – 16ComfortabelPleasant conditions.
16 – 18Enigszins vochtigMost people comfortable.
18 – 21VochtigSome discomfort, sticky feeling.
21 – 24Zeer vochtigUncomfortable, oppressive.
> 24Extreem vochtigDangerous, heat exhaustion risk.

Belangrijke opmerkingen

  • Dew point is always ≤ air temperature.
  • De Magnus-formule is nauwkeurig voor −45 °C tot 60 °C.
  • Relative humidity must be between 0 % and 100 %.
  • Dew point is a better comfort indicator than RH alone.
