What is the Lease Calculator?

This calculator estimates your monthly equipment lease payment. You enter the equipment cost, lease term in months, interest rate, and residual value. The payment is based on financing the depreciation (cost minus residual) over the term. Fair Market Value (FMV) leases have a residual at the end; $1 buyout leases effectively finance the full cost.

Lease Payment Formula

The monthly payment finances the amount to be depreciated (cost minus residual):

PMT = (Cost − Residual) / PV factor

PV factor = [1 − (1+r)^(−n)] / r — r = monthly rate, n = term in months

Anahtar Kavramlar

Residual value

Estimated value of the equipment at the end of the lease. Lower residual means higher monthly payments.

Fair Market Value vs $1 Buyout

FMV: you can return the equipment or buy it at market value. $1 buyout: you own the equipment for $1 at the end; payments are higher.

Amount financed

The depreciation (cost minus residual) that you pay over the term. Interest is applied to this amount.
